Aaaaand we’re back. Notice the plural That’s right, I’ve finally gotten my site back up and running and married/working life has calmed down just enough to allow for a little bit of writing time. Baruch Hashem. But before we get back to some real content, I think it’s worthwhile to address some FAQs!
Q) WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!
A) A little busy! This whole getting married, getting a full time job, trying to run the household, keeping to (and upping) my adherence to very demanding Jewish law, having guests over, attempting to get more than 4 hours of sleep thing hasn’t left too much time over for much of anything! Combine that with the fact that one of the sites on my server was the victim of a targeted hack that took my whole folder offline… and that makes up a pretty big void to fill.
Q) So how are you back now?
A) I’m getting used to balancing a packed schedule. Besides, anyone who used to read this blog knows that writing and photography are how I really express myself and I think I need to get back in touch with that “release”! Besides, my awesome husband has been encouraging me to get back into it for a while
Q) Awesome husband?
A) Yes! For those of you who have been more out of it than I have (hard to believe…), I got married to Daniel Berry from Los Angeles/Princeton U/Morristown on 26 Shevat (Feb 19th). And that’s about as awesome as it gets.
Q) So are you still in Brooklyn?
A) Nope! My husband and I live in Morristown NJ where he attends the Rabbinical College of America (aka Tiferes Kollel) full time. It’s a great little community Think of a shtetl mixed with a bungalow colony mixed with a colonial town mixed with a beautiful forest with rivers and open spaces. And the occasional black bear. That’s Morristown. And yes, my husband is from SoCal and I’m from SoFla and now were living in Jersey. Weird, I know. But I’ve found out that all of those Jersey-haters out there must have only ever been to Newark or the Shore… you’re crazy! Just get off the shoreline a bit and NJ is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen!
Q) You said you got a job?
A) Yup… I finally grew up and got a big-girl engineering job like my parents wanted I’m working full time in Newark. Yes, that awful place I just referenced above. But it’s a good job with the UBM Global Trade sub-company called PIERS. It’s a trade intelligence company with roots dating back to 1827 and Morse (before he invented Morse Code), and I’m a Process Improvement Specialist there. At least that’s my title. I also frequently fall into the roles of Quality Analyst, Systems Engineer, SQL Programmer, Customer Account Manager, and Director of Port Operations. I stay busy.
Q) What exactly is Trade Intelligence??
Q) Okay, so does this mean you’re really back?
A) I can’t promise anything… But I can say that I’m super excited to start writing again. So I’m gonna try. Really hard Want to keep up with what’s going on? Make sure you enter your email in the box to the right, and click ‘Like’ on my Facebook page while you’re at it!
